Consider Recording All Translated Scripture

Encourage people to record translated Scripture before the Bible is printed.

The people can listen to recordings instead of reading the Scripture. It is easier for a group to listen to a good reader. They no longer have to struggle with unfamiliar words. They can concentrate on the meaning of the text instead of the mechanics of reading.

Another advantage: Translators have found that making recordings before printing Scripture has helped improve the translation.

Recording is easier now than it used to be. Now there is computer recording and editing software that makes it easy to produce a good recording.

Recording requires

  1. Teaching people to use a digital recording device, such as Marantz PMD-660
  2. Teaching them to use computer software, such as Audacity or Adobe Audition
  3. A studio

Some used to think they had to record radio programs in a proper studio. So they worked hard to construct a professional recording studio. But good recording can be done in a temporary studio made with locally available materials such as mattresses, blankets, and pillows.
