Even Donkeys Speak

One-sentence summary
Children learn how God shows His love for Asian people.
Description
All of these stories are true. The events in the stories actually happened. Most of the names have been changed to protect the safety of the people.
In her introduction the author says the following: “I pray that in reading these stories you see Christ shining from each earthen vessel. (2 Cor. 4:7) The people you meet on these pages may be unable to read or write. Their churches may meet in flimsy bamboo structures. But Jesus is alive in their hearts. I hope you are inspired by the freshness of their faith and the simplicity of their trust in God's Word, the Bible. Their love is not superficial emotion but a powerful reality. It comes from deep within where Christ is Master of their hearts. In these stories I hope you catch a glimpse of what first-century Christianity must have looked like when people were willing to suffer for their faith in Jesus.”
Each of the nineteen short stories has a small map of the part of Asia where the story takes place. Black and white drawings help the reader understand the story.
The final chapter explains the work of the nondemoninational mission organization: Gospel for Asia.
Considerations
- The stories are about national missionaries who share the good news of Jesus with their own people. Others share in this ministry by their prayers and gifts of money.
- These stories will also interest and encourage adults.
Limitations
- Most of the drawings show the full scene. Those that do not will need to be explained to children who are not picture literate.
Guidelines for Use
- As an audio book with illustrations shown on flip charts.
- In schools, Sunday Schools, and Bible camps.
- On Christian radio, especially in Asia.
