Description
This booklet Growing in My Belief is the second in a series of three to help children understand their new faith in Jesus. The first booklet I Believe helps children begin their Christian life. This booklet continues by teaching about the truth of the Bible and prayer. It also teaches about temptation which means something you want to have, or do that is wrong. The third booklet in the series Yes Lord, What Now? teaches children the need to tell others about Jesus. This booklet contains the following topics:
- The Bible
- Can I be sure the Bible is true?
- How did we get God's Word?
- Use your guide book.
- Growing Christians will have Quiet Time (time with God each day).
- An easy outline for prayer
- Learn to worship
- To be thankful
- To confess sin and wrong-doing
- To pray for others
- To ask for own needs
- To trust God
- Did you learn?
- Right or wrong, how am I to know?
- Go to church? Where?
- You are a witness.
- Jesus promised to the return to the world.
- A judgment day for all people
The booklet has thirty-two pages. The pictures are colored and 9 1/2" x 6 3/4".
Considerations
- This booklet is for children 9 - 12 years old.
- Pictures show children from different cultures.
Limitations
- The booklet was written for children who can read and write. If used in cultures where people are not literate, changes will be needed.
- Children will need to have Bibles and know how to use them.
- Some pictures show only parts of people. This will need to be explained to children who are not picture literate.
- The pictures and symbolism are western. They may not have meaning in some cultures.
Guidelines for Use
- As a flipchart. Children can answer the questions orally.
- To help children better understand why they believe in Jesus.
- In Sunday school, Bible clubs, VBS.
