The Radio Bible project consists of 365 15-minute broadcasts (approximately 175 programs from the Old Testament, 175 from the New Testament, and 15 for Christmas, Easter, and Bible Sunday). This outreach is mostly for nonreaders. Scripture presentation is the main part of this project. It also includes background material so that listeners can apply the text to their daily lives.

Considerations

The background music and the sound effects are Western in style. The cultural appropriateness and how they are understood would need to be tested. (For example, God’s voice is very dramatic.)

The time commitment for recording the whole New Testament needs consideration. It can be a tool for a mature Christian church that can handle the content of the whole New Testament recorded straight through. Newer believers will often listen to Scripture when it is produced in smaller segments, and mixed with other relevant content.

Appropriate conversation markers, that mark transitions, and voice changes, help the listeners keep track of transitions.

Anyone involved in the recording process is paid. This may cause an expectation of being paid a certain amount in future productions.

Guidelines for use/Summary of copyright issues

A recording studio must be located in the country to record the project.
The background media and effects (M&E) track can be changed if a group creates the music themselves.

After the recording is complete, and ready for broadcast, follow-up plan will be needed. This is important to the success of the program.
